Life Orientations
Our Everyday Spiritual Health Life Orientation Map attempts to clarify the various ways we try to make sense of life in the modern world. The fact is, most of us are living within conditions we’ve inherited, and often do not see how these conditions quietly shape the ways we try to understand and interpret life.
The map is intentionally limited. It doesn’t attempt to identify every structural way we organize meaning, belonging, responsibility, freedom, or shared life. Other longstanding modes of authority continue to shape the world, but they are not the concern of this particular map.
The aim here is clarity, not evaluation.
Where many orientations offer systems, programs, practices, and explanations, Everyday Spiritual Health offers reflective ground, a space to notice how we are already standing in the world, what that stance gives us, and what it quietly leaves out.
Before you explore the map, pause a moment:
Where am I already standing?
What steadies me?
What strains me?
What have I absorbed without examining?
The map does not answer these questions, but it does give you language to see.
Enjoy!
